Family Of Women Wear Their Wedding Dresses For ‘Ridiculously Fun’ Dinner At Restaurant

For most brides, one of the best parts of planning a wedding is picking out their dream wedding dress. Many brides enlist the help of their friends and family when picking out their wedding gowns. The memories from finding the perfect dress to wearing it on their special day will last a lifetime.

However, it’s no secret that wedding dresses typically come with a hefty price tag. According to The Knot, the average wedding dress in 2022 cost about $1,900. While it seems like a lot of money to spend for one day, many people think it’s worth it since they’ll have the memories forever. On the other hand, one group of women decided that it was time to put their expensive gowns to use.

A Texas mom, her four daughters, and two of her daughters-in-law gained widespread attention after sharing an Instagram post in May 2023 of themselves going out to dinner while wearing their wedding gowns. According to PEOPLE, Terri Bonin is a mom to 11 kids aged between 9 and 31. She said she and her daughters and daughters-in-law have a monthly tradition “to get out together without husbands or toddlers and eat and talk late into the night.” What better way to switch up the tradition a bit than by wearing glamorous outfits?

The women justified their reasoning as they had spent a lot of money on their dresses and felt the outfits deserved to be worn out for more people to see. Needless to say, they received a huge amount of attention from strangers who were stunned at their apparel.

In May 2023, Bonin’s daughter Alexis Houston posted a video on Instagram of the women wearing their wedding dresses. The video was captioned, “We decided that the most expensive dresses we owned deserved to be worn & enjoyed for more than just one day in our lives😆 we’ve decided to make this a yearly tradition😍😂”

She continued, “100/10 recommend doing this! Absolutely SO fun!!” She added, “can’t say we didn’t enjoy the attention 😂”

Others in the group included Bonin’s daughters, Madeleine, Annalise and Kate, who is unmarried but still wore a dress, as well as her daughters-in-law Hannah Joy and Sydnie. According to PEOPLE, Bonin lost her wedding dress, but Sydnie had loaned her high school prom dress to Kate a few years prior, so Bonin wore that instead.

The women had dinner at True Food just outside of Houston, Texas, and received plenty of attention. Bonin explained that the group had “unknowingly picked the busiest night to go,” as there was a high school graduation party going on as well.

But Bonin’s daughter-in-law Hannah Joy said that her favorite part of the evening was “having to unload in front of all of those people at the graduation. Red in the face. And people trying to understand why there were two babies in the group of brides. Also people thinking we had just gotten married and were just out and about without our grooms!”

Bonin said it was “ridiculously fun!” to get all dressed up and added, “My favorite part was just making a spectacle and being silly with my girls. We definitely made a memory that will last a lifetime.”
