Family Is Called 'Lazy' And 'Poor' Because Of Makeshift Pool, Then Stranger Shows Up With A Real One

A few years ago, in 2016, a family in Texas was publicly made fun of for creating a makeshift pool for their children.

The inventive family had used the back of a pickup truck lined with a big blue tarp to hold in the water for their children to splash around in on a hot day.

It did not take long for the photos of the children enjoying themselves to begin circulating on Facebook. The pictures generated quite a bit of controversy as people rushed to make rude comments about the DIY swimming pool. The parents were being labeled "lazy" and "poor" and made fun of for not being able to afford a real swimming pool.

One kind man named Todd Arredondo was not amused at the strangers calling the family such words. Arredondo grew up poor and remembers the sting of not having enough money. He is now the owner of a successful urban mining company and is committed to giving back to those people in need.

Seeing the kids in the pool reminded Arredondo of a memory from his own childhood. He fondly remembered a stranger buying him a water balloon and how it left a mark that has stayed with him forever.

Because he was so moved by the children in the photos, Arredondo tracked down their contact information so that he could give them the surprise of a lifetime.

The kind man showed up at their house with a brand new swimming pool!
