Family Gives Baby Up After Seeing Him So Nurse Takes Him Home Instead

Most parents cannot wait to take their baby home from the hospital. It is a magical time that is burned into the heart and soul of millions of parents a year. Unfortunately, a case comes around now and again that is exactly the opposite. This story happens to be one of them.

Adam was a young baby who was born with a lot of healthy organs. His heart was strong, his brain was intact, and his lungs were perfect. However, his birth parents insisted that they would poison him if the doctors forced them to take Adam home reports CBN. They were terrified that they would be shamed when others saw their baby. If was a heartbreaking situation all around.

That was because Adam was born with no nose, eyelids, or hands. His legs were also fused together. His parents said that they would either have to abandon him or kill him. The doctors and nurses were shocked and saddened at the cruel twist of fate that had already visited the defenseless baby boy.

Jessica and Raja Paulraj are a married couple who work together in the same hospital that Adam was born in. In fact, they also treated the young child. They couldn't stand to think of Adam being left behind and put into an orphanage. When Jessica held the small baby in her arms, she knew that they would have to do something drastic. It was up to them to save this little boy.

The little boy was diagnosed with Bartsocas-Papas syndrome. This is a rare genetic disorder that can be extremely expensive to treat. However, the couple knew what they had to do. They took Adam to a specialist and made sure he was given the surgeries that he needed.

Luckily, the couple experienced a miracle as they received the necessary treatment for their new son. In just one week, the community raised $100,000 for the baby that "nobody wanted." Adam was able to close his mouth and eyes for the very first time.

John van Aalst was the doctor who worked on little Adam. He stated that while he would never be "normal" by the world's standards, he was already perfect. Adam flourished with the help of his parents, doctors, and community. Unfortunately, he died at 4-years-old on June 12, 2016, reports India West.
