Cats are known for being independent and somewhat grumpy. Beneath that rough exterior, however, cats are loyal and loving animals that truly care about their owners. This story is the perfect example of this deep connection between cat and owner that many people forget about.

This is a story about a cat who never left the side of his owner. Although dogs are usually known for being the most loyal pets, this cat certainly earns a spot ranked as one of the most loving and caring pets on the planet.

When the Hackney family was refurbishing an old home, they found a cat in the basement. While the family was buys remodeling with loud equipment, they heard a faint noise coming from the walls. Although everyone heard a meowing sound, nobody believed their ears.

After the entire family agreed that the noises were indeed coming from a cat, the took a sledgehammer and began hitting the wall of the basement. Sure enough, there was a cat inside the wall.

The cat was only two-weeks-old at the time of the rescue. His eyes were barely able to open on their own. Instead of getting rid of the feline, they decided to adopt the animal. The family ended up naming the cat Trooper for her struggle in the wall. The family never learned how the cat made his way into the wall.

Trooper quickly developed a close relationship with her new family. The depth of this bond was only realized when the family's grandmother became ill. The family didn't realize until now that Grandma Sarah and Tropper had developed the strongest bond of all.

When the Hackney family realized that their grandma's health wasn't going to improve, it seems as though Trooper understood as well. He slept with Sarah to make her feel more comfortable. Trooper also brought gifts from the house to make her happier. When Sarah eventually passed away, Trooper was heartbroken.

The cat stopped eating and would vocally cry throughout the day. Fortunately, Trooper is making a full recovery. He is starting to feel better and is eating regularly again. It is clear that Trooper still misses Sarah. The family often catches Trooper bringing socks to Sarah's old room.

It is clear now that cats are only dispassionate on the exterior. When times are rough, cats show their true love and loyalty as Trooper did with Sarah.
