Ex-Couple Sean Penn And Robin Wright, Both Single, Are Spending Time Together Again

Feb 01, 2023 by apost team

Former married couple, Sean Penn and Robin Wright have been seen out together on multiple instances in Los Angeles, sparking talks that they could be on the road to reconciliation. Both actors, who were married from 1996 to 2010 and have kids together, are currently single again. However, a source revealed that although the formerly married couple is close, it's unlikely they are getting back together.

In early January 2023, Penn and Wright were spotted at the Los Angeles Airport and were then seen going inside an apartment building with their luggage. The last time the exes were in public together was in 2017.

The sighting comes just as Penn and Wright ended their recent relationships with others. Penn's divorce from actress Leila George was finalized in April 2022 after one year of marriage and four years of dating. On the other hand, Wright divorced Clement Giraudet, a fashion executive, in September 2022. They were husband and wife for four years.

Penn, a two-time Oscar winner, met Wright, the star of "The Princess Bride" right after his divorce from Madonna in 1989. Wright, at that time, was also healing from her divorce from daytime soap opera actor Dane Witherspoon.

After having a daughter, Dylan Frances, together in 1991, and a son, Hopper Jack, in 1993, Penn and Wright's relationship troubles led to a separation. Jewel, the "You Were Meant For Me" hitmaker, then admitted in her memoir that she dated Penn while he was separated from the actress.

However, Penn and Wright decided to reconcile and then actually tie the knot in April 1996. Their marriage was not a bed of roses as they filed for either divorce or legal separation, and then reconciled a number of times. But Wright's 2010 divorce filing was the last straw, with Penn telling Vanity Fair in an interview that his wife was a "ghost (to me) now."

In a 2014 profile in The Telegraph, Wright said that they tried to make their on-and-off relationship work for the sake of their children.

"One of the reasons why we got back together and broke up so much was trying to keep the family together. If you've got kids, it's a family, and you try again, and you try again."

When Penn's career took off, Wright scaled back on her work because she was raising their kids. Apparently, Penn and Wright agreed that they couldn't both work at the same time while their children were growing up.

Since Penn was making more money and was getting a lot of offers, Wright said that the decision to semi-retire from Hollywood was a simple one for her. After the divorce, Wright had a hard time landing good roles until she was cast in her award-winning role as Claire Underwood in "House of Cards."

But in 2018, Penn said in a podcast interview with Mark Maron that he and his ex-wife do not get along and have different parenting styles. They maintain separate relationships with their kids, although it got easier when Dylan and Hopper became grownups and could make their own decisions.

However, reports informed that the parents were seen in Los Angeles together to visit their adult son. But a source revealed that there was no romantic reconciliation, although they are getting along quite well. The source added:

"Sean has always said that Robin is the love of his life. He regrets many things that happened during their marriage. He really enjoys spending time with her now."
