Everyone We Spotted In Taylor Swift's 'You Need to Calm Down' Video

Jun 18, 2019 by apost team

Taylor Swift’s new video for “You Need To Calm Down” dropped Monday morning on June 17, and in true Swift-fashion, it’s full of rainbows and celebrity cameos. The video follows Swift, who co-directed the video alongside Drew Kirsch, as she celebrates Pride Month by dancing around a colorful trailer park with some of her closest friends and beloved members of the LGBTQ community.

After burning down her own trailer, she sips tea with the cast of Queer Eye, watches Ellen Degeneres get a tattoo, and puts her archery skills to the test with Hayley Kiyoko… and that’s just the beginning. In fact, the amount of stars who appear in this video is nearly overwhelming, so we’ve made things easier for you by making a list of ever celeb we spotted.

Adam Lambert & Ellen Degeneres

Lambert, covered in tattoos and looking tough, gives a tattoo that says “cruel summer” to Degeneres, who looks like she’s in quite a bit of pain.

Tan France

France looks chic in a pink and blue suit as he pours tea from a colorful china tea pot directly into his mouth before joining the rest of the Queer Eye cast.

The Cast Of ‘Queer Eye’

All five members of Queer Eye - Antoni Porowski, Tan France, Jonathan Van Ness, Bobby Berk and Karamo Brown - sit around a round table laughing and sipping tea with Swift at the tea party of our dreams.

Ryan Reynolds

Reynolds is a close friend of Swift and notably the only celebrity cameo in the video not out as a member of the LGBTQ community. The short scene shows him painting a picture of the Stonewall Inn, a gay bar and national historic landmark, while watching the party from the outside.

RuPaul

No video full of drag queens would be complete without RuPaul, the host of RuPaul’s Drag Race. He’s show walking across a stage full of drag queens posing as various pop stars, holding a crown. Instead of picking a winner, however, he throws the crown up in the air and the scene turns into a colorful food fight.

Laverne Cox

Looking stunning in a baby pink gown, the Orange is the New Black star holds a watering can as she struts across her flaming-covered front lawn. She waves coyly at her neighbor, musician Chester Lockhart, who can’t help but faint at her beauty.

Hayley Kiyoko

In the video, Kiyoko shoots an arrow at a target with a ‘5’ in the middle while her friends hang out in the background. This isn’t the first time the singer-songwriter, known as “Lesbian Jesus” to her fans, has worked with Swift. She was also invited to perform at her Gillette Stadium show in July of 2018 and the two performed Swift’s hit ‘Delicate’ together at an Ally Coalition Talent Show in December 2018.

Chester Lockhart

The musician, dressed head to toe in pink, is seen standing in his yard before his gaze lands on Laverne Cox and he faints due to her stunning beauty. Can you blame him?

Ciara, Jesse Tyler Ferguson & Justin Mikita

Ciara is glowing as she officiates a wedding between the beloved Modern Family actor and his real-life husband, Mikita. Ferguson is a long time fan of Swift and recently co-hosted a celebration for the 50th anniversary of Stonewall Inn where Swift performed as a surprise.

Adam Rippon

Figure skater Adam Rippon is looking cool in a crop top while handing out snow cones.

Todrick Hall

Hall, who Swift has called the ‘co-executive producer of her life,’ executive produced the video alongside Swift. In the video, dances through the trailer park with Swift on his arm. The YouTuber/singer/songwriter/actor/director/choreographer became friends with Swift after meeting her at one of her meet and greets. He was also a semi-finalist on the ninth season of American Idol, a resident choreographer on season 8 of RuPaul’s Drag Race and starred in various Broadway shows, including Kinky Boots and Chicago.

Dexter Mayfield

Mayfield is a dancer/choreographer/plus-sized male model/actor and he makes an appearance right at the beginning of the video, dancing in a brightly covered outfit and having so much fun.

Hannah Hart

The YouTuber/comedian/author/actress/chef appears alongside Mayfield, doing bicep curls with a giant boom box in front of a rainbow-colored trailer.

Billy Porter

Porter, a singer/actor/writer, appears dressed fabulously in drag, struts calmly between the protestors and Swift and her friends as they lounge calmly and tan.

Drag Queens

The drag queens dressed as pop stars competed for the crown, and when no one won, started a delicious-looking food fight. Standing furthest to the left is Tatianna as Ariana Grande, followed by Trinity the Tuck as Lady Gaga, Delta Work as Adele, Riley Knoxx as Beyonce, Jade Jolie as Swift herself, A’Keria C. Davenport as Nicki Minaj, Adore Delano as Katy Perry and Trinity K. Bonet as Cardi B.

Katy Perry

The feud between the two pop stars has been over since Perry sent Swift an olive branch just as she was starting her Reputation world tour in 2018, but they took their friendship to a new level by dressing up as a burger and fries (aka a happy meal” and hugging it out at the end of the video.
