Everyone Has Fallen In Love With This New Christmas Song From Pentatonix

With Christmas around the corner, it's important to remember the true meaning of the holiday. It's not about the gifts, but rather it's about the people we love.

Who better to remind us of this message than the acapella supergroup Pentatonix with their rendition of the holiday classic "Where Are You, Christmas?"

Band member Kevin Olusola told The Morning Call that the past year has been nothing short of hectic for them with the departure of band-mate Avi Kaplan being one such twist.

Kevin explained that Avi's decision came as a shock initially, but they eventually understood where he was coming from. The band has been busy -- being on the road every year while releasing 1-2 albums per year. That kind of pressure (on top of the fact that they're something of a novelty in the pop music industry) takes a toll on people.

In Avi's case, he wanted to be with his family as well as branch out musically. So he and the band respectfully decided to go their separate ways.

In the meantime, the band found a replacement with bassist Matt Sallee. He joined last October and was a natural fit for the band. Kevin told Billboard that Matt was "like my little brother," and that he was happy that the fans came to love him as well.

Kevin explained how important it was for the fans to like him, but it wasn't long before they were drawing fanart of him. That was another reason that the band knew "he was special."

Matt and Kevin, along with Mitch Grassi, Scott Hoying, and Kirstin Maldonado, decided to treat fans with a breathtaking rendition of "Where Are You, Christmas," which was a song from the classic film How the Grinch Stole Christmas.

The band decided to go for a simpler, less extravagant backdrop for their song. Indeed their point is that these pleasantries aren't what make the song, but the heart they put into their performance. This fits with the song's message of love and family being more important than fancy gifts and trinkets.

Be sure to listen to their song below, and prepare yourself for goosebumps! Feel free to spread the word to everyone you know so that they can also experience Pentatonix's take on the classic song, and be sure to tell us what you think in the comments!
