Every Highly Successful Woman Has At Least 5 Of These 11 Qualities

May 30, 2018 by apost team

How do you define a successful woman?

Well, there's not an exact answer for that one. Women have been changing the gender norms for centuries, and as they gain more and more freedom, their power and influence in the world have grown exponentially. Some won't feel satisfied until they're on top of the corporate ladder. Some want big families. And some feel happiest when they're traveling the world.

Perhaps the best way to measure success in a woman is to just ask her about it. In fact, when we asked women what made them 'successful,' we got a lot of different answers. But we did notice recurring trends for little habits that could help you make a big difference in your life.

1. She makes time for herself

Life is busy, whether you're in charge of a company or a family or both. There are always calls to answer and schedules to coordinate and sometimes basic necessities like 'alone time' fall on the wayside.

But with a little organization, it's possible to carve out time when your only focus is you. It can be a walk, a bath, or a trip to the mall. Even a short break helps you clear your mind and remember to take care of yourself, and a little rejuvenation goes a long way in helping you achieve your goals.

2. She challenges herself

A key component to success is ambition, so successful women make sure to set challenges for themselves, whether the challenges be mental, physical, or intellectual. They set goals and raise the bar with each accomplishment to keep their problem-solving skills sharp.

3. She educates herself

Sure, a university degree is a good start, but college classes aren't the same as the real world. Successful women read about, ask questions about, and practice as many real-life skills as they can, from corporate bylaws to DIY maintenance. Knowledge is power, and handling issues independently is incredibly satisfying.

4. She understands 'mommy guilt,' acknowledges it, and moves on

A major obstacle pioneering women face is guilt - sometimes about everything. They can feel guilty about going to work, and still feel guilty if they stay home. Sometimes, it feels like every step forward requires a sacrifice.

Successful women, however, learn how to take a step back and acknowledge the root of this guilt - they want the best for themselves and their loved ones. And that 'best' is achieved by them continuing to push forward and work hard.

5. She knows health doesn't always mean hitting the gym

Health isn't just about exercise and diet. True health infuses every aspect of your life. Even habits like meditation and getting enough sleep go a long way to increasing your energy and self-esteem.  Successful women know this and work to keep themselves as healthy as possible.

6. She is financially savvy

Money is a necessity of life and sometimes it feels like it's the most important thing. But successful women know that you don't need a six-figure salary to live a comfortable life if you know how to budget and plan accordingly - and that requires in-and-out knowledge of your finances. It might be boring, but it will pay off in the long run.

7. She smiles

A sincere, happy smile is one of the most powerful things in the world. Ever had a stranger smile at you and felt a warmth blossom in your chest? And it takes minimal effort on your part!

So smile. Smile at your coworkers, at passersby in the street, at your reflection in the mirror. If you let it, the positivity of a smile can change your life.

8. She can step away from her job

Yes, work is important, and yes, there will be times when it has to come first - and that's okay - but even Wonder Woman needed a break every now and then. Don't be afraid to clock out for the day and enjoy time with your friends and family. It's incredibly rejuvenating and you'll focus better when you head back to the office.

9. She sets goals - and keeps track of them

Goals and dreams are very important to have, but what's even more important is your ability to achieve them. A successful woman not only sets goals for herself, but acknowledges her limitations and plans her step-by-step agenda to make sure she can accomplish her dreams in a reasonable timeframe.

10. She celebrates wins - both big and small

Getting a promotion or finishing your degree is definitely cause for celebration, but don't forget to celebrate the small wins of clearing out your inbox or cooking a new recipe. The days with little wins will be much more numerous, so learning to celebrate those small accomplishments will keep up your motivation to achieving bigger goals.

11. She helps others

Kindness is an increasingly undervalued trait in the world, but it's also one of the most powerful influences. Similar to a smile, a selfless act of good can change your life, as well as the life of the person you helped. It's not a surprise that highly successful women make a habit of reaching out to people in need.
