Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes have been in a relationship since 2011, and their romance has been one of the most talked-about in Hollywood. The two actors first met on the set of their movie “The Place Beyond the Pines,” and since then, they have been inseparable.
Ryan and Mendes are notoriously private about their personal lives, rarely speaking about their relationship in public. However, from the few interviews they have given, it is clear that they share a deep bond that has only grown stronger over time.
One of the most significant factors in their relationship’s success is their shared love for their two daughters, Esmeralda, 8, and Amada, 6. Ryan and Mendes have both spoken about how becoming parents has changed their lives and brought them even closer together. They prioritize their family above all else, and it’s evident in the way they speak about their daughters and each other.
In addition to their shared love for their children, Ryan and Mendes share a passion for acting and a commitment to their craft. They both have successful careers and continue to support each other’s work throughout their relationship.
Despite their A-list status, Ryan and Mendes seem to live a relatively low-key lifestyle, preferring to spend time at home with their family rather than attending high-profile events. They have managed to keep their relationship out of the public eye for the most part, choosing to focus on their love for each other and their family rather than seeking attention or validation from the media.
Ryan and Mendes have managed to maintain a strong bond despite the pressures of fame and built a life together grounded in love and respect. Read on to discover more about their home life and find out which one of the two does the cooking.

While Ryan, 42, and Mendes, 48, may keep much of their personal lives private, their love for each other is evident in the way they speak about their family and in the way they support each other’s careers. For Ryan, fatherhood has completely reshaped his life. He told GQ:
“Time, in general, is something I think about a lot now. My kids are growing up so fast I need to keep an eye on the clock in a way I never used to.”
He also said: “I’m like a dad first, and part of the reason for doing the film (The Gray Man) was this opportunity for us to go to these interesting places and be there with my kids.”
Meanwhile, Mendes has shot down insinuations she had quit acting altogether to become a full-time mom. She shared in an Instagram post:
“I never quit acting. … I wanted to be home with my babies and, fortunately, my other business ventures allowed me to do that more than acting would.”
Among those ventures was becoming co-owner of a female-founded company that makes cleaning products, a brand she adores as she is a self-proclaimed clean freak.
“Life is so chaotic. But the one thing I can control is my house, my kitchen. So when I do the dishes it’s meditative for me. It really goes deeper than just cleaning up. It really gives me clarity. Clean sink equals clear mind for me,” she told People.
She also shared that Ryan doesn’t shy away from the rigors of parenthood. When asked if he pulls his weight with the kids, like help with changing diapers, Mendes told Today, “I mean that’s a given these days. I don’t think that that’s a plus anymore.”

With Mendes handling the cleaning, it turns out Ryan takes over the cooking at home. Mendes told People:
“Ryan’s the cook. He’s an incredible cook. I think that there’s a really nice balance to ‘you cook, I clean.’ And it just works for us.”
She elaborated on Ryan’s skills to Forbes and said, “I’m not an amazing cook – I leave that to Ryan. Hopefully it’s showing my girls that there are no gender-specific roles that one must take on and that we are partners in this and that we’re all partners in this, not just Ryan and I, but our children as well. It’s a team effort every day.”
The pair have to be quite responsible with the children as they don’t hire any help. According to Hello!, Mendes told InStyle: “I’m a very hands-on mom; I don’t have a nanny. No matter how tired I am, I just do it.”
Because the stars are constantly on the move, they decided home-schooling their children was the best choice. Ryan told GQ because he was home-schooled by his mom and “it really did turn things about for me,” she was “the perfect person to ask for help when we needed it.”
Mendes lamented teaching was not her forte. “I don’t do the home-schooling myself because I’ve tried that and it’s not one of my strengths,” she told The Daily Telegraph, according to Elle. She added:
“We travel a lot and one of my strong beliefs is that you try to always keep a family together, no matter what you’re doing. Especially when the children are small. We’re lucky enough to have someone we travel with that can continue their education at this point, and what we do is we try to incorporate the city we’re in as much as possible.”
