Some things from the days of your grandmother or great-grandmother may simply not exist anymore.

Others may seem quaint or unusual in modern times.

What Construction Workers Found

An old high school was in the process of being demolished. The workers found a black purse and stopped their work.

They realized that it could be of some importance, so they got it out of harm's way and set it in a protected area in order to look at it at a later time.

What Was Inside of the Purse

When the workers opened the purse, they realized that it must have been the property of a student at the school. They did not say where in the building or on the grounds they found the item.

The purse was a clutch style with folded fabric, which was popular in the 1950s. The purse contained a bullet lipstick, which is rare to find today and is typically exclusive to high-end stores.

They also found many hand-written notes. In today's era of text speak, it was refreshing to read notes written by teenagers with complete and grammatically correct sentences. They also found a baseball schedule with an ad for bottles of milk.

Looking for the Owner of the Purse

The workers decided to look for the woman's family. They had her name and high school.

From there, they researched her last name.

The construction workers took to social media in order to try to find some members of the woman's family or some details about the woman.

What the Family and Owner Thought

The woman's family was excited. They put the workers in touch with the woman. She was thrilled to get her purse back and posed for a photo with it!

The workers were touched to be able to perform this act of kindness that was definitely not expected.
