Emily Blunt's impressive acting career is enough to inspire anyone, as her undiluted talent has led to immense success in the showbiz world. Active since 2001, Blunt has proved to be a certified Hollywood diva thanks to her impeccable portrayals in blockbuster films like "The Devil Wears Prada." Yet, she has her inhibitions about the movie industry and its pedestal for women.

Blunt, a mom of two kids still in their formative years, opened up about her reservations about the film industry and why she would rather her kids not choose her career path. The award-winning actress was candid in a June 8, 2023 interview, in which she talked about her life as a mom and her career in the acting world.

Back in the 2000s, Blunt made her way to the top, starting with a critically-acclaimed role in 2004's "My Summer of Love." This became her breakthrough role in the movie industry, opening the door for one of her beloved roles, Emily Charlton, in "The Devil Wears Prada." Blunt's versatility helped her morph into several characters for movies like "A Quiet Place," "Sicario," "Mary Poppins Returns" and "Oppenheimer."

The Golden Globe winner, who used to stutter as a child, overcame the speech defect through acting, but she never thought she would channel it into a career path. However, being an actress is presently one of the major parts of her life. The other is being a mom to her daughters Hazel and Violet from her marriage to fellow star John Krasinski.

Blunt and Krasinski got married in 2010, and four years later, they welcomed their first child, Hazel. Violet joined their lovely family in 2016.

The "Jungle Cruise" actress and "Jack Ryan" actor have been vocal about how they feel about family, and it shows their unwavering commitment to that unit. Once speaking to People at the Savannah Film Festival in 2018, Krasinski revealed that for him, "family comes first no matter what." He added, for good measure, that it was "non-negotiable."

Krasinski noted that although he and his wife were busy throughout the year, their daughters came first. He revealed how he went home every weekend to be with his family amid filming "Jack Ryan." "The Office" star mentioned that being with his family was not a duty but rather "something I just can't wait to do."

His beloved wife shared that family was a "beautiful, secure foundation." Blunt noted, "Family is the foundation for why we are able to go off and have fun and have these incredible experiences." The A-lister divulged that she manages work and her duty as a mom by taking "big stretches between (projects) to be with the kids."

Speaking on the "Table for Two" podcast in July 2023, the famous mom revealed how she took a break from acting to be with her daughters. Blunt felt she earned the break, having worked through the year before. She also relayed that her oldest daughter would soon end her years of single digits, and this was one of the important "cornerstones."

On her career and its effects on her life as a mom, Blunt told Harper's Bazaar that her daughters were almost immune to her fame. She explained that she feels "dissociation" from her successful acting career, and her girls appeared to channel this approach.

Blunt noted that while her kids are not fixated on her famous status, they are more interested in mundane family activities. She explained:

"What's exciting for them is when I can pick them up from school and take them swimming."

Although Violet and Hazel seem to prefer spending quality time with Mommy and Daddy, their interests might change with time and age. If they fancy the acting world, Blunt might object to it. She told the news outlet that her "toes curl" when parents tell their daughters they want them to be in the acting industry. Her reason:

"Because it's a hard industry and it can be very disappointing. A lot of people tell you not to take things personally – but it's completely personal, especially when you're being judged on how you look."

She relayed that one would have to endure it in the long run. Blunt has been able to manage being under scrutiny by not checking what is being said about her on social media. She also stated that she was glad that a positive side to the industry was the conversation about equal pay and women being given a voice to express their rights.

Blunt's opinion alluded to women's struggles in the industry, and she likened it to her role in "Oppenheimer." She stated that it was interesting to play Kitty Oppenemier, the wife of the famed physicist J. Robert Oppenemier. Blunt described her character as someone who "wasn't an easy woman" because she had to conform to the 1950s idea of a housewife.
