As the coronavirus spreads across the planet, celebrities, artists and regular people everywhere are trying to do their part to build community and entertain people who are isolated due to government-mandated lockdowns. Elton John’s all-star benefit concert, officially known as "Fox Presents the iHeart Living Room Concert for America," will be a large part of this global effort. But in order to promote social distancing and reduce the likelihood of spreading the virus, the unconventional concert will not take place on stage, according to Entertainment Weekly.

Instead, singers from around the country will perform from the safety of their homes, recording themselves with their own audio and video equipment. According to Entertainment Weekly, a spokesperson from Fox said that the hour-long concert will work to "pay tribute to the front line health professionals, first responders and local heroes who are putting their lives in harm’s way to help their neighbors and fight the spread of the virus.” In line with that goal, the concert will also highlight charitable organizations like the First Responders Children's Foundation and Feeding America.

In the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, which has forced people across the world to self-isolate at home, celebrities and media personalities have had to get creative in order to continue to create the content that fans know and love. And since many on lockdown have extra free time, demand has also increased.

Take Jimmy Fallon’s The Tonight Show, for example. In the wake of the coronavirus outbreak, producers put Jimmy Fallon’s The Tonight Show on hold. But fans of the show needn’t despair. Filmed at Fallon’s home, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon: At Home Edition went live last week, with episodes airing nightly on YouTube and NBC. Despite the show’s obviously stripped-down nature, Fallon largely stuck to the format fans know and love. He still delivered a monologue, though he stood in his home and read from a piece of paper instead of the normal studio setup.

And like Elton John’s benefit concert, which will air at 9 p.m. ET and be broadcasted on iHeartMedia radio stations as well, every episode in Fallon’s series highlights a new charity, raising money for organizations like No Kid Hungry.

Although celebrities, musicians and artists everywhere have had to get crafty in order to keep fans entertained — especially during these trying times — they’ve shown that with the help of technology and a little ingenuity, we can all still come together to enjoy the music, the shows and art we know and love.
