Elton John And Husband David Furnish Are Loving Fathers To Two Children

Legendary singer Elton John and his husband David Furnish are the fathers of two children: Zachary, 9 and Elijah, 7.

Sir Elton John and his husband David Furnish have been fathering two children. According to Closer Weekly, both kids were born through surrogacy. The eldest, Zachary, was born in California in 2009 and Elijah in 2013.

According to what Elton told Matt Lauer on Today, that the couple was originally nervous about how their sons would adapt to having two dads. Elton said:

“it’s going to be heartbreaking for him to grow up and realize he hasn’t got a mummy. But he’s so happy. I’ve never seen a more contented child.”

Despite his decades of performing on stage, Elton John is ready to prioritize family over his career. His "Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour" started in 2018 and is scheduled to conclude in 2021. 

The 70-year-old singer plans to spend more time with his husband, Furnish, 55, and their two kids. John told Today about the couple's kids, "they're our primary concern. They're the things that come first and foremost."

According to Good Housekeeping, the couple, twelve years after initially meeting in 1993, decided to get engaged during a dinner party in one of their homes in Windsor, UK in May 2005. 

On December 21st, 2005, David and Elton were one of the first couples to form a civil partnership in the UK. Exactly nine years after this date, once gay marriage was legalized in the UK, the couple got married.
