Ellen DeGeneres Surprises Jimmy Kimmel With A Special Gift To Celebrate His Son’s Recovery

Ellen Degeneres is known for her heartfelt surprises (though her wife Portia recently upped the game with an awesome birthday surprise for Ellen, click here to watch!) and now Jimmy Kimmel was the next lucky recipient of a special gift. Jimmy paid a visit to Ellen's show and was left in absolute tears when Ellen gave him this.

Jimmy Kimmel's son, Billy, was born with a rare heart defect and underwent surgery twice at Children's Hospital in Los Angeles. This was a very stressful ordeal for Jimmy and his family, and he tearfully reported his son's surgery on his nighttime show in April 2017. 

After the surgery was successful and his brave little son recovered well, Jimmy thanked the hospital medical staff in a heartwarming monologue on his show. 

Ellen played a big part in making sure Billy received the funds he needed to receive the best care and research for his condition, and Jimmy made sure he thanked her on the show...but then Ellen said she had a surprise for him.

"That could go one of two ways on this show, " joked Jimmy. 

"It's a good surprise, I promise," said Ellen. 

Ellen announced that the room on the Heart Institute floor where Billy had his surgery would be named after him. 
 

Ellen had even brought Billy's nurses on the show, who helped Ellen with getting the room named for Jimmy's son. It was truly a special moment!
