Ellen DeGeneres and wife, Portia de Rossi, have welcomed a new member to their family. It's a 3-month-old puppy who goes by the name Mrs. Wallis Browning. She was introduced to the world on a recent episode of Ellen's show.

They adopted the pup from Wagmor Pets. Ellen noted that adoption is a viable option for those looking for a purebred pet. Wallis joins Ellen and Portia's already big brood of animals. She gained three dog siblings: Wolf, Kid, and Augie. She also has three cat siblings: George, Charlie, and Chairman. Ellen once had the dream of becoming a veterinarian. She has brought that intense love of animals to her own wildlife fund.

The Exciting Announcement

Ellen shared the news of Wallis' adoption with her audience on a recent episode. Ellen's audience cheered when the 61-year-old talk show host announced, "We rescued a puppy!" She shared a photo of the adorable puppy.

Ellen said, "She’s so cute, I can’t even take it."

She shared a collection of photos she had taken of Wallis during the pup's first few days at home. It included one of Wallis sitting in front of a mirror, admiring her own good looks. For the first couple of months of her life, Wallis was kept in a cage outside in the desert heat. She was recused from irresponsible owners and put up for adoption. That's when Ellen and Portia made the decision to add to their brood. All of Wallis' siblings have already gone to good homes. Her mother, though, is still awaiting a forever home. She's a three-year-old standard poodle that's been bred all her life. Her rescue saved her from dying young due to over breeding.

Ellen's vocal about her love for animals. "They offer unconditional love in ways humans can’t," she said during an interview with Good Housekeeping back in 2017. Portia de Rossi gifted her with the Ellen DeGeneres Wildlife Fund. It's an organization dedicated to supporting conservation efforts for critically endangered species around the globe. The Fund proudly partners with the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund International to help keep gorillas in the wild safe from poaching.

Ellen is an example of a celebrity making a big difference in the world. From adopting a rescue puppy to trying to save gorillas in the wild, her dedication is undeniable.
