At one point during his career, Brendan Fraser was on top of the world, starring in movie after movie. Some of his most notable roles included portraying Rick O'Connell in "The Mummy" trilogy, as well as leading roles in "George of the Jungle" and "Journey to the Center of the Earth."

After taking a hiatus from acting in films, he moved to television and was met with a new wave of fans. "The Affair" and "Texas Rising" were some of his most famous roles. Recently, Fraser had been working on the action series "Doom Patrol" from 2019 until 2021.

Fraser has continued to work hard in the acting industry and even has a new project in the works. Very recently, Fraser made waves online after his critical acclaim portrayal of the 600 lb middle-aged Charlie as he tried to reconnect with his seventeen-year-old daughter. Premiering at the 2022 Venice International Film Festival, Fraser received a 6-minute standing ovation from the audience – leaving him moved as he basked in recognition of his work.

Fraser's acting chops have been highly recognized in the industry; he has received a Broadcast Film Critics AssociationScreen Actors Guild AwardTIFF Tribute Awards, and ShoWest Award, among many others.

His work ethic and personality also made him a joy to work with. As per actress Elizabeth Hurley, she is looking forward to the time to work again with Fraser, with whom she shared the limelight in their movie "Bedazzled" in 2000.

In an interview, Hurley gushed about Fraser, confessing her excitement about the possibility of working with the actor again.

During the late 1990s and 2000s, Fraser was a highly sought-after and respected actor. He had leading roles in "George of the Jungle" in 1997, "The Mummy" in 1999, and "Bedazzled" in 2000 – in which he was loved and adored by fans and professionals in the entertainment industry.

Unfortunately, Fraser's career and activity in the public eye trailed off for a bit in the 2010s.

Speaking to GQ Magazine in February 2018, Fraser opened up about some of the hardships he faced over the years, such as the physical toll his acting roles put on his body. According to The Straits Times, the actor spoke out about how the extreme and physically demanding roles he used to play during the late 1990s and early 2000s really took a toll on his body, especially since he did his own stunts.

Fraser spent seven years in and out of hospitals for various operations, including a partial knee replacement, vocal cord repair work, and a lumbar laminectomy – a back procedure to relieve pressure on the spinal cord or nerves.

"By the time I did the third 'Mummy' picture in China, I was put together with tape and ice – I was building an exoskeleton for myself daily," Fraser told the magazine.

However, in his resurgence, Fraser appears to be transforming himself once again. He has been long loved and respected in the industry and has started taking on new acting roles with a different look. In October 2021, Unilad reported that Fraser took on an "almost unrecognizable role" for the 2021 film "No Sudden Move."

Anticipating his big comeback on screen again is her former co-star Hurley, whom he worked opposite in 2000 at the fantasy-romantic comedy film, "Bedazzled" as the geeky, over-zealous man Elliot Richards.

Speaking to People Magazine about her upcoming rom-com movie "Christmas in the Carribean," Hurley was also asked about her thoughts on the "Brennaisance" of his former co-actor Fraser.

"I would love to work with Brendan again. He was one of my favorite costars," she told the outlet. Hurley played "The Devil" in "Bedazzled," a film directed by Harold Ramis in 2000 that stars her and Fraser.

Hurley and Fraser reunited at the screening of "The Whale" at the Ham Yard Hotel in London last Oct. 12, 2022.

"Brendan and I got on so fantastically when we shot Bedazzled and then didn't speak. We didn't speak at all until I got invited to this screening of The Whale. And I was so excited that I'd see Brendan again," she revealed.

Hurley continued to speak dearly of Frazer in the interview, echoing the sentiments of the public about his stellar performance in "The Whale."

"I just was so bowled over by how fabulous he is in this movie," Hurley shared. "And Brendan is one of the nicest human beings you could ever meet and I'm just so happy for him that he's just had this opportunity to shine again. And it was wonderful meeting up with him. It's been 20 years since I tortured him in Bedazzled. I loved [The Whale] and I love him."

Fraser is set to appear in the 2022 film "Killers of the Flower Moon," a Western crime drama. Directed by Martin Scorsese, the film has a wide array of talented actors and actresses, including Leonardo DiCaprioRobert De NiroLily Gladstone, and Jesse Plemons, as per The Independent.
