One senior was particularly happy to see her owner. Buddy, a 13-year-old golden retriever, was so excited to be reunited with her owner, Army Pvt. Hannah Foraker, that she seems to have started to weep.

According to ABC News, Foraker had never been away from home before doing her basic training for the Army. Three months after she left, she went back to her home Cleveland to visit her family and Buddy.

“When I came home we let her outside and, at first, she didn’t realize I was home,” she told ABC News. “Then, she did a double-take and came back to me. That’s when she started crying and whimpering. She was so excited.”

Foraker was home for two weeks, and she had Buddy following her around the whole time she was there. Her family now claims that Buddy has a newfound energy, and they believe it is due to Foraker's visit.

Unfortunately, Buddy is now partially deaf and has arthritis, which worries Foraker that each time she sees her could be the last. Thankfully, the two are able to see each other through video chat on Skype as often as possible.

“I hope to see her again next time I’m home during Christmas,” she told the outlet. “She will be all right; she’s a fighter.”
