Elderly Couple Describes Repo Man As 'Wonderful' After He Pays Off Their Debts And Returns Car

To start with, you should never judge a book by its cover. Yes, this is a saying you must have heard before.

A generous repo man named Jim Ford gave this saying a lot of weight when he returned a repossessed car to an elderly couple outside St. Lewis, Missouri back in 2016.

If you were to point to the kindest man you know, a repo man would never be any close to your pick. Of course, you could think of pastors and maybe social workers.

But a repo man, no way. These are the people who come to your home and repossesses assets that you couldn't afford to pay for. They are known for caring less about the reasons you weren't able to pay. Therefore, many people consider them ruthless. But this repo man started a GoFundMe campaign and repaid the bank the amount the couple owed.

Jim Ford will change the way you look at people in this field of work. Jim has been a repo man for more than 20 years, according to CBS News. He has less-than-polite experiences with people he has come across while working. He told CBS that repo men are the kind of people you might try to run over with your car.

So, could it be that he was tired of 20 years of being a "bad guy?" Or, maybe he is just open-handed? Whatever the case, his actions towards this couple demonstrate that he is one of the kind-hearted and unselfish people that still exist.

An elderly couple, Stan and Pat Kipping, defaulted on car payments for their 1998 Buick Century, CBS reports. Therefore, Jim Ford was to repossess the car from the couple. As usual, he stowed the vehicle on his breakdown truck and drove away. However, it took him no time to decide that he had to come to the rescue of this couple.

According to ABC News, he called the bank to inquire about the amount he had to pay in favor of the couple. So, the bank confirmed that the amount totaled around $2,000. Ford consulted his friend for the way forward. So, they teamed up and together came up with a plan to open a GoFundMe for Stan and Pat.

Luckily, the account did not only manage to raise the amount that was needed but another $1,000 extra. Just as planned, he returned a thoroughly cleaned car, with engine oil replaced together with an envelope of extra money to the Kipping’s.

The couple says that Ford is the most compassionate man they have ever met. Also, they claim that this incident has transformed their life. The couple explained that before this event, they were in the worst debt as Stan's medications were unaffordable. Also, it had become impossible to pay bills.

“He was wonderful. I mean, [Jim's] the kindest man I’ve ever met in all my life,” Pat Kipping told CBS News.

Currently, there is no car payment debt, and they can comfortably pay bills. Again, they claim that Stan's medication would no longer be a problem if the GoFundMe account sticks to the trend. The financial help would also return them to their lives. Therefore, all credit goes to Jim Ford.

This story serves as a reminder whenever you want to judge another person. Also, your job should never be your excuse for treating people wrongly. Kindness will always be a choice, no matter the situation.

In conclusion, a little act of kindness can change the way people look at you. The little you give, the idea you share or your willingness to help is all it takes.
