When a granny gets groovin’, don’t stand in her way, even if you’re the police.

The Running Man Challenge inspires people to break into special dance moves called Running Man at the sound of Ghost Town DJ’s song “my Boo.”

In Hollywood, Florida, a feisty little old lady sat enjoying the sunshine, flanked by two young men with a radio. When a DJ announced that his station was offering a prize for the first person to find the Challenge, Granny sprang into action. She jumped off the bench and busted her Running Man moves, inspiring her young bench companions to do the same.

The elderly lady started her hunt for the Challenge and asked two police officers where it was. They pointed her in the right direction and then decided to dance a little Running Man themselves, the video shows.

Word spread along police radios that Granny was on the move. The police chief found out from his deputy where the challenge was and warmed up his dancing shoes as well. About that moment inspiration hit. The chief decided all his police officers needed a little Running Man motivation.

As the elderly lady made her way through Hollywood, she stopped to ask directions from each police officer she saw. Each one followed the Chief’s orders and broke into dance, gradually steering her towards the police station.

One officer decided to go a step beyond and dumped a big bucket of ice water over his dancing partner. Granny was not impressed. As she jogged away she said, “That is so last year!”

When she arrived at the station, dancing officers greeted her and invited her up to the third floor. Her elevator ride was shared with more dancing friends. By the end of her trip, she and the entire force were “Running-Man-ing” it in the front of the station to the delight of onlookers.

The lively video includes assembled of clips of Granny and the dancing police. Besides just the fun of the music and dance, it’s a wonderful example of a community coming together and the unquenchable spirit of the elderly.
