It seems like there is never a shortage of young stars taking the entertainment industry by storm. And yet, a few stand out with their amazing talent and passion. Two examples of those stars are Ed Sheeran and the late Christina Grimmie. In 2014, these two singers teamed up for a performance on The Voice that captured the heart of everyone there.

Ed Sheeran is known as an internationally acclaimed singer and songwriter who has received four Grammy Awards, six Billboard Awards and five Brit Awards for his talent. At age 29, the British entertainer is already set for life financially. Sheeran rose to fame via his YouTube appearances and several self-released albums that slowly gathered a loyal fanbase. After six years of this, the singer was signed to Asylum Records in 2011.

Christina Grimmie also rose to fame through YouTube. The American singer started covering famous songs on her channel before she branched out to her own self-composed songs. When she released her debut single in 2011, her fan count started rising rapidly. Spurred on by her fans, she released her first album in 2014 and became a contestant on The Voice. While she only went on to make third place, her duet with Ed Sheeran on the show is unforgettable.

Both singers combine their considerable talent in this team up. Grimmie's clear, angelic voice is a perfect match to Sheeran's deeper timbre. Their voices are only accompanied by Sheeran playing the guitar, making this performance an acoustic version as well. Sadly, it was one of the last times Grimmie performed live. In 2016 on June 10, at the age of only 22, Grimmie was shot four times by an obsessed fan while signing autographs, and died.
