Ed Sheeran Takes On Elvis Presley's "Can't Help Falling In Love"

Ed Sheeran is famous for covering famous songs and making applying his unique style. "Empire State of Mind" is one of his most famous covers of the Jay-Z song by the same name. Sheeran brought this same creativity to an Elvis tribute concert where he performed a rendition of "Can't Help Falling in Love".

A significant amount of artists spanning many different genres gathered together to perform some of Elvis' greatest hits. This tribute concert was a rendition of the iconic 1968 performance that helped to reignite the King's career. The concert took place on Sunday night (February 17) on NBC. Ed Sheeran was one artist out of an entire setlist that offered to perform at the concert.

John Legend, Post Malone, Carrie Underwood, Yolanda Adams, Jennifer Lopez and a host of other prominent artists were also in attendance. Sheeran was asked to cover Elvis' 1961 single "Can't Help Falling in Love". Having performed songs with the likes of Beyonce, Elton John and Andrea Bocelli, Ed Sheeran was not out of his element.

Unlike many of the other performers, Sheeran was not on the recreated stage of Elvis' famed 1968 Comeback Special. Instead, he was accompanied by a multi-person chorus that helped to give the song more ambiance and power. The added harmonies complimented Sheeran's powerful vocals. Elvis recorded "Can't Help Falling in Love" for his Blue Hawaii album.

Elvis Presley performed the famous 1968 special on NBC after spending over seven years in the movie business. This concert helped to reignite his career and solidified his position as the King of Rock and Roll. Rare interviews with Elvis' wife and daughter were also included in the feature. Steve Bender, the director of the special, was also interviewed.

Some other highlights of the night included J Lo's rendition of "Heartbreak Hotel" and Carrie Underwood's duet with Yolanda Adams. Adam Lambert, who is currently touring with Queen, sang an energetic version of "Blue Suede Shoes". Post Malone gave a surprising performance of "Baby What You Want Me to Do.

Dozens of award-winning artist came together to help commemorate this iconic special in an effort to pay tribute to the King. Countless artists grew up listening to his records and memorizing his lyrics. Fans of all genres tend to fall in love with Elvis' music. There is something truly intriguing about the King.
