Ed Sheeran And Cherry Seaborn Celebrate Birth Of First Child

Singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran and his wife Cherry Seaborn just had their first child, a healthy girl named Lyra Antarctica Seaborn Sheeran. The new father announced the birth of his daughter with a post on Instagram.
This morning, Sheeran shared a picture of a knitted baby blanket and tiny baby socks on his Instagram and in the post’s caption he revealed that his wife Cherry gave birth to their first child last week and that mother and daughter are both doing great:
“Ello! A quick message from me as I have some personal news that I wanted to share with you... Last week, with the help of an amazing delivery team, Cherry gave birth to our beautiful and healthy daughter - Lyra Antarctica Seaborn Sheeran,” Sheeran wrote. “We are completely in love with her. Both mum and baby are doing amazing and we are on cloud nine over here.“

At the end of his message, the 29-year-old asked fans and media to respect their family’s privacy, saying “we hope that you can respect our privacy at this time. Lots of love and I’ll see you when it’s time to come back, Ed x”
When it comes to their personal life, Sheeran and Seaborn have always tried to keep most of it out of the public gaze. Since their engagement in January 2018, the couple never actually confirmed that they had tied the knot and kept fans guessing about it instead.
In the end, it was a subtle comment Sheeran made in an interview with iHeartRadio in July 2019, that revealed their official status. When the singer was asked about a specific verse of one of his new songs that says “my wife wears red,” Sheeran subtly confirmed that he had married Seaborn as he answered: "It was actually before me and Cherry got married and I knew that we'd be married by the point that the song came out"
Now the happy couple welcomed their first child and we can’t wait what the future brings for little Lyra Antarctica!
