Ecstatic Dog Gets Parade Following Being Adopted After 500 Days

Imagine being a dog sitting inside an animal shelter for more than 16 months. Although you're being fed on a regular basis, you're likely a bit insecure and craving human company and a comfortable home to explore and browse around in. These feelings will tend to increase as time passes, either causing excessive anxiety or resulting in the animal accepting a fate of never finding it's forever home. It's a sad situation that way too many animals must endure before finding that home or, in some especially heartbreaking cases, being euthanized.

In one happy story from December 2019, a dog named Bonita was finally adopted from the Niagara SPCA in Niagara Falls, New York after being at the shelter for 500 days. She was clearly ecstatic, as were the humans helping her celebrate in her own parade!

However, Bonita, a dog that had been at the Niagara SPCA in Niagara Falls, N.Y., for nearly 500 days, was finally able to spark love and care from prospective human companions and was recently adopted by them. It was clear just how excited both Bonita and those associated with that organization were as she jumped on people as she was being bathed in heartfelt applause while being led to her new home. One of the new owners asked Bonita: "You ready? You ready? Come on. Let's go. Let's get the hell out of here."

That special moment was captured in a video that was first shared by the Niagara SPCA on their Facebook page. Unsurprisingly, the emotional scene quickly caught the attention of more and more people as this video was shared over and over, with many comments connected to it.
