Eating chocolate cake for breakfast is beneficial for your brain and your body

It’s no joke! You can actually improve your cognitive performance by eating a juicy slice of chocolate cake with your morning coffee! And here’s why..

A large-scale case study, including 968 participants aged 23 to 98, was recently carried out by Syracuse University. The participants continued their standard diet and eating habits and the experiment found incredible results. It was found that chocolate directly affects our cognitive performance! Apparently, consuming chocolate regularly even improves our memory and our abstract thinking skills. The University of South Australia found similar results and have proven the cognitive benefits of eating chocolate.

Scientists at Tel Aviv University claim that eating chocolate every morning helps them concentrate. Moreover, they refuted the widespread assumption that chocolate is unhealthy - It was actually found that chocolate helps lose excess weight.

According to bestselling author of the book The Big Breakfast Diet, Dr. Daniela Jakubowicz, the brain needs energy first thing in the morning and it is the time of day when the body converts everything you eat into energy. This is why you shouldn’t eat chocolate after 9 o’clock in the morning. Apparently, eating carbs or a 600-calorie chocolate cake helps you lose more weight than if you were to eat a 300-calorie breakfast after 9am

According to nutritionists, a component of chocolate, called flavonoid has this positive effect. This nutrient makes up 20% of the compounds of cocoa beans and it is also found in other plants, such as tea leaves, wine grapes and apples.
