Sometimes we meet those people in life who seem so special they are like angels in disguise. Unfortunately, many of them leave this earth too soon. Chris Rosati was one of these rarely incredible people. Many who knew him would say he was no ordinary man. Father of two beautiful girls, this man was determined to make a difference in the world after learning of his terminal illness, ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease. The disease inspired Chris to re-evaluate what is really important in life and make the most of his time here on earth.

Steve Hartman got to meet the special man and interview him in winter of 2013.

His quest to spend his time in a more meaningful way began with a Krispy Kreme doughnut truck. Chris gave out 1,000 doughnuts in his hometown of Durum, North Carolina. A gesture that surely brightened the day of many people.

His oldest daughter Logan spoke highly of her father. She said she knows he wants her to have the best life saying, “I wouldn’t trade him for a million dollars.” A man of great example, Chris really would do anything for his daughters Delaney and Logan. “I can’t teach them every lesson,” he stated, “I won’t have enough time - but I can be a good person and they can see that.”

Chris’s diagnosis was very eye-opening for him. It caused him to make huge changes to his personal life.

A man once very focused on his career, he shifted his focus to making new memories with his daughters. Chris expressed that most fathers set the wrong priorities and do not understand what is important in life. When Logan was asked what she will remember the most about her dad, she responded; “He tried to make friends with the world. I think it’s hard to do. I am proud of him.”

Chris will always be remembered for his positive outlook, amazing smile, and the way he made the most of his life.
