Dwayne revealed to his followers on social media exactly what happened to his father that caused his death. He began by saying, "As you know, I lost my old man a few days ago. I lost him just like that, didn't get a chance to say goodbye to him. I would give anything right now to give him a big ole hug and a big ole kiss before he crossed over and just say thank you and I love you and I respect you. I didn't get a chance to say that, but such is life as many of you know. "

Rocky was a professional Canadian wrestler who went on to train his son Dwayne who would eventually go on to being one of the most successful celebrities in Hollywood.

Dwayne continued by explaining what happened in the days leading up to Rocky's death. "He had not been feeling well. He'd been battling a cold and infection and on Tuesday he had what's called a deep vein thrombosis, which is essentially a blood clot in the leg," Dwayne said. "It was a big 'ole blood clot that broke free, traveled up his body, and went right to his lung, clotted his lung and he died very quickly from a massive heart attack."

However, Dwayne reassured his followers that his father's passing was quick. "He went fast, he went quick. That's my old man. He was always quick," he said. "That did give me great comfort because it wasn't prolonged... He had been in a lot of pain for a very long time."

Rocky began wrestling in the 1960s however he became successful when he moved on to the WWE in the 1980s. Rocky teamed up with another wrestler known as Tony Atlas and the two became "The Soul Patrol." "The physically imposing and wildly charismatic Johnson had several memorable rivalries with the likes of Greg “The Hammer” Valentine, Don Muraco and Adrian Adonis.

Rocky and Atlas became the first African-American World Tag Team Champions in WWE history and defeated The Wild Samoans on Dec. 10, 1983.

The "Ballers" star described the complexity of a father-son relationship. "There's a unique father and son bond that's so unique and it's a testosterone-driven bond that's irreplaceable," he said. "So there's so much about my old man and all of his complexities that only me as his son can understand."

Dwayne later posted how he had "fun" writing his father's eulogy saying, "This was fun. Written a lot of things over the years, but nothing prepared me for this one. #eulogy #mydad #soulman."
