The wrestler-turned-movie star Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson has a reputation for being a big guy with a huge heart. He recently sent a video message to a little boy battling leukemia when he found out that he was a fan of his animated movie ‘Moana.’

The Rock voiced Maui in the animated musical, who is a demi-god that helps a young girl journey through an oceanic adventure. It’s a story that resonated with 3-year-old Hyrum Harris, who reportedly watches the movie over and over according to The Rock’s Instagram caption.

Hyrum is battling Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia which is complicated by Down Syndrome, and to get through his daily pain he looks to Maui to make him feel strong. The Rock wanted to send a message to Hyrum to say that he is already strong like Maui, and to sing him a few verses of the hit song ‘You’re Welcome.’

He speaks directly to Hyrum to tell him how great he is and jokes that some people think The Rock sounds a little bit like Maui. He wraps up the video by saying:

“I know you’re like, ‘Dude, leave the cool singing to Maui.’ You’re absolutely right, Hyrum. I wanted to tell you, man, stay strong. There’s another dude out there, me, Dwayne, who, like you, loves Maui too. There’s no one like Maui. He’s the coolest thing. I’m a big fan of Maui, too, and I’m a big fan of yours. Thanks for inspiring everyone around you, including myself. Stay strong, Hyrum.”

The Rock also posted a follow-up Instagram with Hyrum’s reaction to his message. In it, the writer describes Hyrum’s reaction of joy and laughter when he saw it and the response of the hospital staff and family of the video as well.

He captioned it “Thank you to the person who wrote this beautiful note. You’re absolutely right - joy and hope cost nothing and yet, is the most powerful gift we can give. Thats the real magic to life.”
