Operating a daycare center can be difficult with workers finding it rough to keep up with the children that are in their care.

Surprisingly enough, humans aren’t the only ones who have a daycare center – as it turns out, ducks are also animals that pass their younglings off to be cared for by others while they complete their daily tasks. Nature photographer Brent Cizek took this video at Lake Bemidji in northeastern Minnesota of a duck mom not only caring for a few but 76 ducklings!

In 2018, a wildlife photographer named Brent Cizek managed to run right into a duck daycare center. The daycare is called a “crèche”, which the French word for nursery. When Brent found this duck mom with her group of ducklings, he could quickly see that it was a crèche since she had 76 ducklings that she was caring for!

That’s right – this poor mom had to keep up with 76 youngsters, trying to keep them in line and making sure that they were all safe, according to Live Science. Can you imagine the responsibility that she felt as she tried to protect them?

Brent caught the scene on video, filming it as she directed the babies to jump into the lake water with her. Thankfully, these were some well-behaved babies; they all stayed in line and did what they were told by the duck mom, never straying out of their assigned spot.

It was remarkable to see the duck mom taking care of this large brood of babies and we certainly appreciate her determination as she struggles to keep them all safe.

Can you imagine trying to care for 76 children? The job would seem almost overwhelming! Thankfully, this duck seems to take the entire job in stride and do whatever she has to so that they will be safe until their own mothers return home. We can only imagine how tired she must have been that night!
