Drone Flies Over Wind Turbine Capturing Rare Event On Tape That Has Viewers In Stitches

Drones give their operators a bird's eye view of the world. While most drone footage is exactly as you would expect, this was not the case when in 2015, one operator flew his drone over a wind turbine located close to the waterfront. The footage that was captured was so hilarious that he posted it on the internet to share with others, and the video went viral.

It was a beautiful afternoon in Rhode Island with ample sunshine and gorgeous blue skies. The weather was perfect for taking a drone out for some overhead exploration.
The drone’s operator flew the drone around the sides and top of a wind turbine hoping to catch a glimpse of something unique or at least to see a view of a turbine that few other people are able to enjoy.

As the drone rounded the turbine’s tower, the operator noticed that a door at the base of the tower was open. This was enough to pique the operator’s interest and to encourage him to fly around for a closer inspection.
The operator thought he may see some maintenance workers or mechanics, but this was not the case. The operator flew the drone up higher and higher until he reached the top of the turbine tower.
Initially, the image was not focused, and the operator could only make out a nondescript object sitting at the top of the tower.
As the focus improved, the operator realized that it was not an object at all.
A person was laying at the top of the tower with his hands behind his head. He appeared to be soaking up a few rays and completely oblivious of the fact that he was laying approximately 200 feet in the air without any guardrails or other protective features in place.
The sunbather eventually noticed the drone circling around him. He sat up to give the camera a quick wave before going back to relaxing under the sun.
