Drama Erupts At Baby Shower After Father-To-Be Declares 'This Party Is Not For Me'

Baby showers are supposed to be joyful for parents who are expecting a baby as it’s a special occasion where friends and family gather in order to celebrate the life of an unborn child who will later arrive to bring happiness.

Unfortunately, not all celebrations like this end on a positive note. Such was the case in a viral video that circulated all over Reddit which showed chaos erupting during a baby shower.

The clip was posted on Nov. 2, 2020, by an anonymous user. As of September 2023, the original source remains unknown.

The video began with a pregnant woman who sat beside a man who appeared to be her father, as everyone at the baby shower clapped because her husband, the father of their baby, went in front to say a few words.

Many of them seemed to have expected him to share sweet kind words for his wife and their soon-to-be-born baby, but no one was prepared for the shock that he would bring to all of the guests.

“Husband provides proof that the child is not his during baby shower in front of everyone, including the man she cheated with,” the user wrote in the title. 

The expectant dad, who wore a blue blazer, invited another man who appeared to be his lawyer to the front. The attorney then brought out a suitcase that contained the truth about the baby. 

Although the clip didn't have subtitles, other Reddit users explained what was said in the comments, and it appeared the husband said he wasn’t the real father of the baby and he had medical files to prove it.

One user tried their best to translate what the man said, as they transcribed what the man said: “This is my lawyer. We have over here a document. You guys all know that I'm expecting a boy. Here, look, I have the pregnancy test, you guys know I'm gonna be a dad.”

"But you know what, you guys overlooked an important detail. Here is proof that she isn't 4 months pregnant but in fact she is 6 months pregnant. I just want to clarify a small detail," he explained. "This party is not for me, but for them and I will leave it at that."

In addition to the files, the lawyer also presented a video clip on his laptop which showed the woman being intimate with another man. In a shocking turn of events, the other man whom the woman had cheated with was also present at the baby shower and chaos erupted when one of the guests started to pick a fight with him.

Toward the end of the clip, the expectant father casually left the venue after he revealed the truth and the pregnant woman ran after him in a bid to prevent him from leaving.

As for the man whom the woman cheated with, it’s unclear what happened to him after he left, but as captured on video, family members and other guests chased him away. Amid the turmoil, a cake was even smashed on his head.

After the video amassed countless views, some users expressed their opinions over the post.

“Crazier than any telenovela on Telemundo!” one wrote.

“Cheating is horrible, especially when it leads to pregnancy,” another one wrote. 

“I have nothing but respect for this man,” one commented.

Not all users believed the video was real as others questioned the authenticity of the scenario. One person wrote, “I think the husband's lawyer with a briefcase being at a baby shower is the biggest hint that it's fake.”
