Drake Fulfills 11-Year-Old's Wish With A Surprise Visit To Hospital

Sofia Sanchez got the shock of a lifetime when her favorite superstar visited her in the hospital! Drake took it to himself to surprise Sofia, who is a patient at Lurie’s Children's Hospital, located in Chicago.
The 11-year-old girl is awaiting her heart transplant and has been going through some difficult health issues. The little girl got Drake’s attention when a video of her went viral, as she participated in the viral dance trend to Drake’s famous rap song “In My Feelings.” Another video Sofia created features her asking none other than Drake himself to visit her in the hospital over the weekend while he was in town performing at a concert.
How could he turn down her offer?
Sofia, who recently celebrated her birthday, could only think of two wishes that she couldn’t see herself without. One, for a new heart, and two, to meet Drake himself. Graciously enough, the superstar took time out of his trip to Chicago to meet the strong little girl and it was an amazing experience for the both of them!

Drake even posted pictures with Sofia on his own Instagram account, receiving millions of likes with the caption mentioning that they discussed Justin Bieber and basketball.
The rapper gave Sofia some of his merchandise, such as a hat that reads “Scorpion,” the name of his fifth and most recently released album. Sofia is beaming in all of the photos taken from this day, and it just shows how happy she is to have Drake visit her in the hospital under such unfortunate circumstances. Her graciousness and thankfulness show through her politeness and smiles.
Sofia’s condition is known as cardiomyopathy, which impacts the muscles of the heart. With this illness, it makes it difficult for the heart to deliver blood to the surrounding organs and can eventually result in failure of the entire heart. Sofia received open heart surgery just a few weeks ago, installing a mechanical pump to help her heart and blood flow as she awaits a transplant.
The video of the surprise shows Drake walking into her hospital room before she exclaims “Oh my god!” Sofia then asks Drake if he’s watched the popular Netflix series Riverdale before he requests a hug and the two bond further and talks about anything that their hearts desire. Drake and Sofia both seem excited to meet each other.
