Dr. Oz Sends All His Support To Alex Trebek Amid Host's Cancer Battle

Friends and fans come out to give Alex Trebek love and support in his battle with stage IV pancreatic cancer.

Several months ago, 78-year-old Alex Trebek told the world about his battle with stage IV pancreatic cancer. Celebrity friends and long-time fans have showered him with messages of love and support ever since.

One of the celebrities coming forward with a heart-felt message is Dr. Mehmet Oz. Dr. Oz said, "I think he’s made peace that he has a big battle."

On September 17th, Trebek updated his friends and fans with news that his health is getting worse. His doctors are planning more chemo treatments.

Over the summer, the news was more positive. Trebek had finished chemo and started immunotherapy. Unfortunately, his test results started to get worse, quickly. The doctors took a step back and reexamined the situation. Hence, the new plans for chemo treatment.

"This summer, because I was making such good progress, we thought I was finished with chemo," Trebek revealed. "That was a bit premature and certainly optimistic. I began immunotherapy, but that didn’t go well. My numbers went south – dramatically and quickly. The doctors are now reexamining my situation, and it appears will be having more chemo treatments ahead of me.”

Trebek still hosts Jeopardy. He has stated that his ailing health won't stop him from hosting the show. "As long as I can walk out and greet the audience and contestants and run the game, I’m happy,"

Back in June, a young man reached out to Trebek. His grandmother is also suffering with pancreatic cancer. He asked Alex for some motivational words to help his grandmother. Trebek sent her a hand-written note that said, "Karen, Let’s you and I decide that we both are going to be cancer survivors. Stay positive! All the best."

Let's hope that Trebek stays strong during his battle with pancreatic cancer.
