John, Keri, and Alyssa were the three members of the Altobelli family who were on the helicopter crash that took the lives of nine people total including NBA legend Kobe Bryant and his daughter on January 26 in Calabasas, California.

The Altobellis' grieving loved ones have set up a crowdfunding link to help the remaining members of the Altobelli family heal during this tragic time.

John's two remaining children are J.J. and Lexi Altobelli, and the link was set up for them. As the description reads, "These funds will help J.J. and Lexi as they are faced with funeral costs, Lexi’s future education, as well as other general living costs."

As of Tuesday, the pot has reached almost $300,00 thanks to the generous donations of the public who send their donations as well as thoughts and prayers in the comment section of the site.

John was the Orange Coast College baseball coach, and his daughter Alyssa was on the same basketball team as Kobe's daughter Gianna. The two dads would often use the helicopter to watch their daughter's games, reports CNN, who were both in Kobe's Mamba Academy.

Sports run in the Altobelli family, and John's son J.J. was a scout for the Red Sox. Another member of the Red Sox family, Paul Toboni, set up the GoFundMe for the Altobellis writing in the description, "While the Red Sox and its Foundation will be providing financial and emotional support, we understand that opening this up to the public can provide the Altobelli Family with the most security moving forward."
