Dolphins Rush To The Glass As They Hear Stunning Violinist Playing Music For Them

Known for their intelligence and grace, a group of dolphins leave their snack time behind, opting instead for a beautiful violin serenade. At the Aquarium of Genoa, a crowd of guests came to hear the violin played live while at the annual meeting of the European Association of Aquatic Mammals. On the other side of the glass, the dolphins decided they would like to hear it too and swam up to get a better view.

As aquatic mammals, often mislabeled as fish, dolphins offer a representation of the everyday playful intellectual beneath us all. Their simple movements through water are breathtaking enough for onlookers to be entertained for hours. Typically, trainers at the Aquarium of Genoa do offer learning experiences with the dolphins. Of course, guests and staff alike got an infinitely better than expected experience that day.

The European Association of Aquatic Animals is a European non-profit organization set to understand and support marine life. Acquario di Genova, or the Aquarium of Genoa, serves as the largest aquarium in Italy, and thus was the perfect location for the meeting.

As the most popular exhibit, the directors at the Aquarium in Genoa decided to hold the violin performance in front of the dolphin pool. Moreover, to increase the excitement, the event was scheduled during the beautiful creatures' snack time.

Maybe it was their inner intellectual that, like Sherlock Holmes, favors the violin? Whatever the reason, this pod of curious dolphins eagerly swam to the front of the glass to hear the stimulating and beautiful music of the stringed instrument. The timing and manner in which they approached is perhaps the most adorable and amazing part of the story.

Swimming by at the crescendo, the wonderful aquatic creatures add a visual representation of the music. On their first approach, the dolphins seemingly wave with their fins, as their bellies graze the glass of their pool. To the professionalism of the musician, the violin music did not falter during this amazing moment. Most excitingly, the dolphins jump from the water, do a flip, and return on musical cue.
