Dolly is a unique and incomparable person. Having displayed an excellent commitment to her marriage, most people loved to hear what she had to say about making it last. We all know that marriage is a challenging endeavor, especially for people who are always in the spotlight, such as Dolly Parton.

Regardless of the numerous challenges she has faced, Dolly seems to have discovered a solution to virtually all the problems she has encountered in her marriage. This has enabled her to live a happy married life.

As she opened up about her marriage in an interview with People, she noted that absence could make the heart grow fonder. She acknowledged that the saying was correct in their circumstances. She even joked that the reason her marriage has remained intact is that she stays gone. She suggested that people who have been in such a union would relate to her sentiments because space is vital in a marriage.

People do not need to be around each other all the time, as this would lead to conflicts and chaos. Staying away from each other in marriage helps to ensure each person keeps their distinct personality. When couples look forward to seeing each other it helps their relationship not descend into boredom and what many people call the 'usual rut'.

According to Yahoo! News, Dolly said that she had not experienced fights in the many years she has been married. She noted that as a couple, they have never wanted to have bad memories. This helps them be fair to each other and avoid conflicts. She confirms that her marriage has never been perfect. Like any family, it has had its fair share of problems, but they have managed to ensure the problems do not break it.

She compares marriage to business, and although some find it strange, she believes marriage requires couples to work hard – just as businesses do – to stay afloat. For Gabby, it was a dream come true chatting with the country music queen. She took the opportunity to learn all she could from her.
