The death of a spouse or lifelong companion has a devastating impact on the partner left behind. The partner is left to grieve, heal, and find a way forward alone.

When Dog the Bounty Hunter’s wife, Beth, passed away from cancer in June 2019 at the age of 51, he began this process himself. Fortunately for Dog, he is now set to marry again after meeting Francie Frane, but he has spoken about how no one will ever take Beth’s place.

Dog the Bounty Hunter, real name Duane Chapman, spoke to ET about how the match was written in the stars. After losing Beth, who he had been married to for 13 years, 67-year-old Duane thought he would never be able to marry again. According to ET, Beth had also told him that if another woman ever took her place she would haunt him!

Grief has a way of bringing people together and this is definitely the case for these two. Francie said, "We were able to walk alongside each other through the pain and heartbreak and it brought us together in this amazing way."

Duane speaks about how he met Francie by fate when he spoke to her on the phone just days after Beth had passed away. As they got talking they realized they were both grieving their spouses. Francie’s husband, Bob, had passed away six months before Beth.

Speaking about their spouses Francie revealed:

"We're both still grieving. We're never going to leave Bob and Beth behind or forget about them. They'll always be a part of us." They also plan to annually commemorate the dates their respective spouses passed away on by doing something meaningful as a way to remember them.

To add to how perfect the match is Duane told ET that Francie is a former rancher and hunter, so there "couldn’t have been a better pick that God picked" for him. Duane knew it was meant to be and proposed when it felt right. The couple has not set a date yet and is still finalizing arrangements for the wedding, but both are looking forward to spending the next chapter of their lives together.
