“I’m broke,” Dog told The New York Times. He attributes his situation to expensive medical bills from beth's battle with throat cancer and with having to support a big family. He also has claimed that if he doesn't get it under control he could lose his home in Colorado.
The 66-year-old has also suffered from his own health issues. Dog told Dr. Oz on his show he was "diagnosed with a pulmonary embolism." The disorder is when a blood clot travels to your lungs and blocks blood flow which is potentially life-threatening.

He told Dr. Oz after finding out about his health condition, "I said, after Beth left, I'm not afraid to die... I take that back. I'm not afraid to [die], but I don't want to."
Dog hopes to return to television and be able to make money for himself. He told The NYT that he is trying to get his conviction of first-degree murder in the 1970s pardoned so he can accomplish his dream of being a Sheriff where he would also film for television. 'I think it'd be a hit,' he said.
Besides Dog's health concerns, the hunter has been feuding with his children over his relationship with his son’s ex-girlfriend, Moon Angell. Speaking to Radar News, he confirmed he is seeing Angell, who was his late wife Beth’s assistant.
"Moon has been a trustworthy and loyal friend to me for over 20 years. She has been with my family through many ups and downs," Chapman told the publication.
Chapman’s revelation comes just days after his daughter Lyssa Chapman called her dad out on Twitter after he posted a photo of himself with Angell.
“If someone who met your family by dating your brother, tried to date your father after your step-mom died what would you do?” her post reads. “If you went to your mother’s closet and saw she moved all her clothes and replaced them with her own, what would you do?”
Although his children seem to not be supportive of their father’s decision to date Angell, the bounty hunter makes it clear that he is happy with her.
"Moon is experienced. It's just that. Who knows what my future holds, but right now I need her,” he told Radar news. There will never be another Mrs. Dog but that doesn't mean I have to be so sad."
