Going on the Dr. Oz show, he was confronted head-on with the reality of his health condition. "You're not going to be here with the heart the way it is right now," Dr. Oz said. The doctor also offered some insight about Dog’s situation after their interview.
“Beth had been his north star,” he said to People. “She was the one that would go with him and keep him balanced so he could deal with these things. Losing her took away his biggest support.”
Now, Dog is taking care of his health by going on a diet, trying to give up smoking as best as he can, and also by taking blood thinners. He is optimistic about his recovery and says,
“Once this goes away, I am 100 percent. I’ve had fears,” he said on the show as per People. “The blood clot is not a normal thing but it happens a lot, but I’m going to be 100 percent. I’m encouraged by it,” he says.
