Duane "Dog the Bounty Hunter" Chapman is engaged to be married. The world-famous bounty hunter and television personality confirmed his engagement to his girlfriend, Francie Frane, via Instagram on Monday.

"They’re very happy and looking forward to a long life together," a rep for Duane tells People. Duane and Frane, who confirmed they were dating in March, told The Sun on Monday that he popped the question over the weekend in a romantic candlelit proposal at their home in Colorado where they are currently sheltering.

Francie, 51, said she wasn't expecting it at all. "I think I had gone to pick up some food and then when I came back he had all the lights turned down with just a few lights on and a bunch of candles lit. So when I came in I was like, 'Wow, this is awesome'. Then he said, 'Come in, sit down because I need to talk to you'."

"So I put all the food in the kitchen and I came in and he said, 'I know that God brought you into my life and I don't want to spend one moment of it without you'. Eyes welling up as she recalled the special moment, Francie added:

"And he got down on one knee and he opened the ring box and he said, 'Will you marry me and spend the rest of our lives together?' Who can say no to that? It was wonderful."

In an interview with The Sun in March, Duane said he and Frane have bonded over their shared grief of losing a spouse to cancer. Francie’s late husband Bob died just months before Beth lost her battle with throat cancer last June.

The pair got together after Dog left a voicemail for Bob asking him to do some work on his property, without knowing he had passed away. Francie called Dog back to explain what happened to Bob and they became friends, then started dating.
