Dog Returned To Shelter After 8 Years Is Struggling To Find A New Home

The Battersea Dogs & Cats Home, a UK based animal shelter has a record of taking in many animals in their time of need and also looking for new owners to adopt them.

However, there was one unique case out of all, in their years of operation. According to Metro, Daisy has spent over 100 days in the shelter; more than double the average time spent by other animals, which is 40.

Daisy first visited the shelter as a pup in 2010, and was adopted by a family 15 days later.

At first, this would seem to be a lucky charm story, but fate didn’t have it that way. Daisy was returned to the animal home after spending eight years with her owners.

After 9 years with her owners, Daisy was sadly returned to the shelter. It’s a tough position to be in for a senior dog. Most animal lovers in search of a pet are more likely to select a puppy compared to an aging dog. She marks more than a hundred days spent at the shelter with no hope of getting a new owner.

No one seems to be pushing some interest towards Daisy. It breaks our hearts that she had to go from spending merely fifteen days at a shelter to not having the tiniest of hope that she will be adopted.

The poor soul doesn’t even have the slightest clue why fate would have it that way. Many people want the youngest blood without having to consider what's in for their senior counterparts.

The puppies might have everything you want in a dog especially the physical appearance, but they demand delicate attention and more care than their older counterparts. Senior dogs are already hardened to adapt to all environments.

Animal lovers should consider these details when turning down the seniors who are also in dire need of homes.

Old dogs tend to be calmer and more composed compared to the puppies. They prefer to preserve their energy and laze around with the family members.

Daisy is unique and still has the strength to keep a home lively. Every day we keep hoping that she will find love at first sight who will take her home and spend the rest of her life in love and care.

Daisy’s story could happen to anyone. We wouldn’t want her living in isolation and loneliness as her other counterparts find homes and leave her behind. So, what do we do for Daisy? Does her story touch your soul? Let’s spread the word until she finds her next home! Her new owner may be from your world.
