Dog Moves To New Home And Freaks When He Sees Yard

You can always count on a dog to appreciate things that humans tend to take for granted. Their innocent ways are really something that we can all learn from; dogs can teach us about the mysteries of emotions better than almost any other animal.

Not to mention, dogs become incredibly cute and adorable when they discover something that they love! They get all jumpy and happy whenever there's something amazing to investigate, and that's exactly what happened in a video from October 29th, 2015, when one little Westie adopted from a shelter saw the updates to her new home in Florida.

When Christy and her human dad first moved out of state, it was clear that the poor pup was going through some moments of anxiety. There’s a lot of stress and uncertainty that comes with every move, and this is only amplified in the mind of a dog. Since dogs rely on their noses and landmarks for reminders of past experiences, taking those away can be quite disorienting for even the most resolute canine.

However, every new beginning is also another chance at a new adventure, and with her human in tow, Christy had all of the capabilities needed for the move to Florida.

Who would be her new neighbors? Would she like them? Who would be in the new neighborhood? What will her new yard look like? What kinds of things would be around for her to scent-mark? The possibilities were endless!

When Christy was finally introduced to her new home, all of her fears and anxieties began to melt away. One could almost say they were washed away; her new home had an amazing new pool in the backyard! Christie immediately fell in love with the water feature; she swam every single day.

One video, taken by her human owner, features the pool-deprived pup who’d been gone from her favorite pastime for five whole days! Christy was so eager to get back into the water that she was bouncing up and down like an overwound spring! There was only a sheet of clear glass between her and the object of her desire; she could hardly withstand being denied any longer.

Finally, after being teased and tempted long enough, her daddy opened the door, and she bolted out onto the cement like lightning! She made a direct beeline for the pool, and lept an impressive distance for such a petite Westie! With a big splash that would put a labrador to shame, she submerged herself in the pool. Thankfully, this dog must be part fish because she’s able to get the hang of swimming again quickly despite being out of practice.

You can see the pure, exuberant joy radiating from Christy’s smile while she swims through the pool. The pool is nice and long, so it’s perfect for a pup like her to get her laps in. She barks happily, diving in and out of the water and excited for her human to join her in the water. However, he’s more than content at the moment to just let her have the whole pool to herself while he films the adorable scene for the internet.

Climbing back up from the stairs, she stands at the top with her paws still in the pool before making another impressive leap into the water. It's not often you see a Westie this enthusiastically happy for a little splash in some water. But when they become happy, there isn’t anything better than seeing their little tails wagging through the air!
