In a video posted on September 11th, 2019, a dog owner figured out a trick to teach their pup a little bit of control. In a home of no-loud-barking, this pooch has figured out a new way of expressing himself: by using his 'inside bark'.

Cats meow, birds tweet, and dogs bark. It is just the way that nature goes. But there is something distinct and special about a dog's bark. They use their barks to express themselves in a way that we can understand. They yip when they are excited. They growl when there is danger. They might even make a cute little squeak when they are tired. In any case, barking is just par for the course when it comes to dogs. Let's be honest, though. Sometimes, the barking can be a little much.

The fact that dog bark collars are a best-selling product on the canine market really says it all. Dogs need to be able to bark. Sometimes they bark way too loudly though. Other times, they bark at every single speck of dust that they see.

After a while, it can get a little old and a little overwhelming. One dog owner figured out a trick to teach their pup a little bit of control. In a home of no-loud-barking, this pooch has figured out a new way of expressing himself.

Ranger is a good boy, plan, and simple. He is also a dog with a bark as big as his body. But Ranger's owner started to notice that he barked at everything. He did not just bark at threats.

He barked at birds, at neighbors, even at his owner! So, what did she do? She figured out a way to let him continue to express himself without blowing out her ear drums!

Instead of engaging in the ear-piercing bark, he was accustomed to, he learned to bark in a new way. Ranger's owner taught him to make a cough-bark instead of a full-bodied, full-volume bark. He knows his owner can't stand his loud barking over every little thing he sees out the window.

So he found a way around it! In the adorable video, Ranger's owner reminds him, "No bark!" Ranger knows exactly what this command means. He also has to express the fact that he's got stuff to say! He can't help but let out a little cough-bark while staring directly into the camera.

Maybe it's true that you can't teach an old dog new tricks. This one certainly learned a new spin on an old trick, though! Ranger knew better than to bark loudly, so he learned how to drop the volume down while still getting his point across! Brighten up a friend's day by showing them just how clever Ranger is.
