Dog Hides In Bushes Whenever Her Mom Says It's Time To Leave The Park

A dog named Poppy found a way to extend her playtime in the park: hiding from her owner in bushes. In 2017, Poppy's human Lisa Brownson posted a video of Poppy during a visit to the park—a visit that was clearly too brief for Poppy's liking.

Dog lovers know how committed their furry friends are to fun—our canines' very existence seems wrapped around squeezing the fun out of life. As devoted owners, we want to give our precious companions the best too—treats, entertainment, and trips to the dog park to ensure that every need is attended to.

When Lisa Brownson took her adorable puppy, Poppy, to the park one day, she had no idea what kind of hijinks her little furry friend was conspiring to make sure the fun would last as long as possible.

A seemingly normal day

Poppy and Lisa had a great time at the park that one fine day in June of 2017, running, chasing each other, playing fetch, and socializing with other dogs while Lisa chatted happily with friends. When the time came to round up the doggy park supplies and return home, that's when Poppy's real fun began.

Poppy began an impromptu game of hid- and-seek! She did not want to leave the park, so she decided to duck under a row of bushes and hide from Lisa, hoping to prolong the fun. Little did she know that Lisa had some plans of her own.

Playing hide and seek

As Poppy ducked under the row of bushes and turned around, peering through the brush to see if her owner spotted her, Lisa giggled at Poppy's attempts to hide from her. She grabbed her cell phone and started recording the impromptu game. As Poppy darted in and out of bushes, tail wagging and barking furiously, she challenged Lisa to follow her and engage in the game herself.

Poppy's head bobbed in and out playfully each time Lisa calls for her; she is in no rush to respond as she rolls in the grass, tears up and down the boulevard, and enjoys a grassy snack, to Lisa's exasperation and delight. Both she and Poppy would gain notoriety as she posted her puppy video on social media with a caption that read, "And she thinks I can't see her."

Unusual dog, unusual entertainment value

Some dogs dig in their heels and growl at their masters, others flop down and refuse to move if they don't want to go home, but Poppy's evasion techniques were truly unique and positively adorable. Thanks for brightening our day and giving us a little bit of sunshine, Poppy! Pass this along to your loved ones to have their days brightened, too.
