Dog Born With Facial Deformity Couldn't Find A Home Until Her Story Went National

A stray dog in Romania gave birth to a litter of puppies. That's not unique, but this litter was special. One puppy was normal but four were not. They all had the same facial deformity with their muzzles basically turned sideways. Their noses pointed to the side and their jaws closed on the other side. It seemed she would not be adopted until something unexpected happened.

Bethany’s mother was a street dog in Romania who got pregnant before being rescued by a family who helped to care for her and her five puppies until they could be transported to the UK, according to Cesar's Way.

Safe Rescue for Dogs had been having trouble finding them forever homes. Unfortunately, when people go looking for pets to adopt, they tend to gravitate towards the cute ones, overlooking the not-so-cute ones and the older pets. This had been happening over and over again to one of the twisted-snout dogs, named Bethany, who is now nine months old.

All but one of Bethany's siblings have found homes, but she had a much more severe deformity than they did. Safe Rescue for Dogs said she can eat, drink, breath, play, and love just like any dog. She just looks a bit unusual. "She doesn't even snore", Zoe Casey, a volunteer fosterer said, reports Cesar's Way.

People coming to the rescue to look for a dog had glanced at her and assumed she had some kind of severe medical issue that would be difficult and costly to manage.

However, Bethany's story went national and thousands of requests from all over the world poured into the small rescue service.

Overwhelmed and concerned that Bethany might be adopted for the wrong reasons, they took to Facebook to report that Bethany had been adopted by one of their foster team and encouraged others to consider adopting many of the other needy dogs on their site, including Bethany's sister, Carolina, from their website.

What do you think of Bethany's story? Would you consider adopting her sister, Carolina? If you know anyone who cares about dogs and would find the tale interesting, don't hesitate to tell them about this story.
