Doctor Walks into Room And Expects To See Patient - Is Suprised By Army Husband Instead

There is no way to minimize the plight of the brave young women and men that risk their lives to protect the American people. However, the suffering of their spouses can sometimes be just as great.

The husbands and wives of U.S. military personnel encounter real challenges to be faced every day. They sometimes live with a fear that is present each hour of each day.

For this reason, we love viewing photos or videos that show reunions between service members and their families. There is no greater joy to be expressed as there is between a military member and their spouse who are reunited after so much time apart.

The experience becomes that much sweeter when the reunion is a surprise to one of the spouses. A surprise is exactly what Seargent Bryan Samsel of the Army National Guard planned for his wife Shannon a few months back.

Shannon is a Missouri resident. Bryan had his sister take Shannon to a dinner show for her birthday. Bryan says he wanted to do something special for his wife. He admits that he expected her to cry at the very least.

The show was part of the Dolly Parton Stampede. Immediately following the performance, members of the show called Shannon into the middle of a ring they formed with their bodies. Bryan suddenly appeared.

Shannon exclaimed, 'I hate you' before collapsing into the arms of her husband.

Joshua Splinter is a physician and reservist with the Army National Guard. Joshua was equally creative when surprising his wife Alice, who is also a doctor.

The first part of Joshua's plan was to return from deployment unannounced. He spoke to Alice on the phone the day of the surprise, telling her it was time for him to go to bed. This was normal since Alice thought her husband was in Africa.

Alice hung up the phone and prepared to see her next patient. When she walked into the examination room, there was Joshua, dressed in fatigues, waiting for her. Alice said it took a moment for her to understand what was happening.

Alice explained her knees were weak when she hurried to hug her husband. Fortunately for us all, the reunion is recorded for our enjoyment.
