Doberman Pinscher Picks Out His Own Treat And Brings It To The Cashier

A Doberman Pinscher named Kruz is so well-behaved that his dad tells him he can pick his own treat while at the pet store.

Dogs possess many talents that cats do not. They can bring the paper to their owner. They carry their food dish around the house to signal mealtime, whether the clock agrees with them or not. Some excel at catching a frisbee off of the ground.

Dogs display high levels of intelligence. They also exhibit strong social skills, usually making friends quite quickly and placing people at ease with their playful demeanor.

Turning the corner in a grocery store, only to see a Doberman Pinscher trotting down the aisle may provide a momentary shock and cause a brief pause. But the sight of the dog wagging his tongue and examining the goods on the shelves restores calm and makes patrons smile.

Kruz makes friends easily at the store. He trots next to his owner, making new friends from strangers and greeting regulars he sees often. A quick lick from Kruz constitutes the reward for a firm scratch on the head and a kind word.

His leash keeps him from greeting people face to face, which he clearly tries to do, his front paws leaving the ground before a quick but firm pull.

When the shopping is finished, Kruz’s owner takes him to the toy aisle to find a prize to reward his excellent behavior. Like a kid in a candy store, Kruz makes several trips up and down the aisle, trying to decide which one item best fits his current mood.

He sniffs tennis balls, ropes, and a wide array of bones and other chewable treats. He walks to the back of the store to check out more bones before returning to the aisle for another romp up and down, examining the goods.

He seemed most interested in pig ears on a higher shelf, sniffing them the most times and for the longest period. He latches on with gusto when his owner hands him the pig’s ear. The search is over!

The fun continues. Kruz carries the pig’s ear to the counter, waits his turn, and places it on the counter for the cashier to scan.

Once scanned, his owner removes the packaging and hands the pig’s ear to a thrilled Kruz. Kruz walks out of the store, pig’s ear in his mouth, ready to settle down and spend some quality time with his new treat.

Kruz proves that dogs possess the intelligence to master the art of shopping. From carefully choosing his purchase to understanding the mechanics of the check out line, Kruz handles the task with ease, grace, and a wagging tail  Let us know what you think about Kruz in the comments and if you know of any other similarly talented canines!
