Lemon sharks can grow up to 11 feet, and though they aren’t known for being threatening towards humans, it is still best to be cautious around this unpredictable animal. Josh checked the poor creature for any signs of injury, risking his safety in doing so.

His friend filmed nearby, capturing this incredible moment, which occurred just off the coast of Florida. Josh took a closer look at the shark and found something surprising on its belly.

A large hook was protruding out of the poor shark’s stomach! Josh quickly realized that the shark simply wanted his help, so he reached for the hook and bravely pulled it out of the shark. Happy and feeling much better, the shark swam away and back again to thank its hero!
