Mikael Nordmark's 9-year-old son Hugo was born with lissencephaly, a rare brain disorder that causes a variety of ailments, Hugo has endured a lot of hardship in his young life. Because of the disorder, Hugo cannot sit up or walk without assistance and also has to be fed through a feeding tube.

However, Mikael is determined to give his son the best life possible. Because the average life expectancy of a person with lissencephaly is only ten years old, Mikael has made the most out of their limited time together.

One of the ways that the father and son pair has bonded is through running marathons. It all began in the summer of 2014 when Mikael ran the 26.2-mile race while pushing Hugo along in the jogging stroller. Since then, the running pair has crossed two more marathon finish lines, beating their personal record each time.

Because of Hugo's limited mobility, this is a great way for the pair to bond and spend time together. It is no easy feat to complete a marathon and it is even more challenging to do it while pushing a stroller. But it is clear to see how much joy Mikael gets out of spending this special time with his son.
