Desert Donkeys Have Sweetest Reaction Experiencing Green Grass For The First Time

Aug 28, 2019 by apost team

Animals never cease to amaze us. This is especially true when animals see certain elements of the world for the first time. A new puppy will go absolutely crazy when he or she sees their first snowfall, and a cat will react hysterically if they get caught in the rain for the first time. It’s always good to catch these reactions on video, as they are not always easy to get again!

We couldn’t help but crack up when we watched an adorable herd of donkeys have their minds blown when they first got to experience grass under their feet. A wild horse sanctuary, located in Northern California, shared the hysterical video. Montgomery Creek Ranch is the sanctuary who takes care of wild donkeys and other animals. They knew that their video would warm the hearts of anyone who watched it. You’ll see why when you watch the hysterical video for yourself below.

These particular donkeys came from Arizona, a state that has a lot of dusty, sandy terrain. They had spent their whole lives in the desert with the sand underneath their feet every time they would go outside. They had no idea what grass would be like since they had never had the chance to experience it before. The workers of the ranch were lucky to film the donkeys enjoying their very first experience on green grass. We are happy they were able to catch it all on video for our enjoyment.

The ranch explained that they first turned the herd out to experience the grass so that they would get used to it. Since the animals had never experienced the feeling of the ticklish, soft grass before, the ranch wanted to make sure they were not skittish of it before they were given the chance to run free all over the ranch. You won’t believe the reactions to this “foreign” terrain. The donkeys are absolutely precious! We are so glad that they have lots of clean, fresh grass to run and play on Hats off to this wonderful organization in Northern California!

Have you ever recorded an animal acting the same way when he or she stepped on grass for the first time? Feel free to leave us a comment below with your experience. Make sure to pass this right along to others when you are through.
