On Mar. 2, 2025, she managed to have the same effect on the Oscars crowd, especially her “Ghost” co-star, Moore. In a Variety video shared on X (formerly Twitter), 62-year-old Moore was seen admiring Goldberg’s stunning gown, expressing her excitement and appreciation for the elegant look at the 2025 Oscars. Goldberg, attending the event alongside her daughter Alex Martin, donned a stunning midnight blue gown straight from Christian Siriano’s latest runway collection. While Goldberg’s dress at the Oscars oozed elegance and iconic fashion sense, she ignited internet conversation for a different, unique reason. 

The off-the-shoulder neckline of the gorgeous dress revealed a tattoo on the “Ghosts of Mississippi” actress’ exposed shoulder. Since the actress and TV host typically picks dresses and button-down shirts that cover her shoulders, the tattoo on her shoulder has rarely been seen by the public. Goldberg’s tattoo features a colorful dragon spanning part of her back, her shoulder and one side of her chest. 

Moore, meanwhile, dazzled in a custom-made Giorgio Armani Privé gown adorned with crystal embroidery, a plunging neckline, and an elegant train. Before the ceremony, her daughter Scout Willis, 33, told PEOPLE that Moore’s look would be nothing short of “iconic” and “to die for” – and she certainly lived up to the hype! Moore was nominated for Best Actress for her role in “The Substance.” She ultimately lost to Mikey Madison for her role in “Anora.”

In the video, the pair were seen posing for photos, and Moore could be heard saying:

“You look gorgeous.”

Goldberg replied:

“I do feel kinda cute,” to which Moore agreed, saying, “You do look kinda cute!”

Like many on the internet, Goldberg was just as mesmerized by the gown the first time she saw it. She recounted her initial reaction to Siriano upon seeing the dress in another red-carpet moment. She recalled saying to the designer:

“Baby, that’s my dress.” 

Goldberg got a sweet message from the designer on his official Instagram account as she strutted the red carpet in the breathtaking, fluid-like dress. The friendship between the designer and the actress is incredibly touching, with Siriano often collaborating with Goldberg and sending love to her on social media. He wrote:

“My friend and EGOT ICON @whoopigoldberg in custom Siriano liquid water tonight at the #OSCARS right off the runway! Love you Whoopi!”
